I received my BA degree from Christian Brothers University in 1997.

My degree is in Liberal Studies for Professional Education.

I received my SPED Certification in 2018.

After graduating in 1997, I began my first teaching assignment at Horn Lake Intermediate School. I taught 5th grade ELA.

In May of 1998, my husband, Jack, received a promotion and he was transferred to Tampa,FL. I taught 5th grade self-contained at E.L. Bing Elementary in Brandon, FL from August of 1998- May of 2002.

In 2002, my husband and I returned to DeSoto County and I got a 4th grade ELA position at Desoto Central Elementary. When Mrs. Loper received her Principal assignment at Pleasant Hill Elementary, I transferred with her. I've taught 4th grade ELA and Math here at PHES.

Last year, I was given the opportunity to move to self-contained SPED for grades 3-5. I feel BLESSED to be in this position!! As I begin my 21st year in teaching, I am filled with just as much excitement and enthusiasm as if it were my first year!!

All About Mrs. Trim

Welcome to the Dream Team!! I am so pleased to be your teacher for the 2018-2019 school year!! Before we begin our year together, I want to tell you a little about my family and me. I have been married for 20 years. My husband's name is Jack. He is a Regional Sales Manager for Hilti. He travels 11 states on the East Coast. He is typically out of town 3 weeks out of the month and works out of his home office 1 week. We have two boys, RJ and Gavin. RJ is a senior at Christian Brothers High School. Gavin is a 7th grader at Lewisburg Middle School.

Both of my boys enjoy extracurricular activities. RJ spends his afternoons working out at the gym. Gavin plays football for LMS where he will play corner back and wing back. Gavin plays competetive baseball for EBC. He plays center field and pitches.

Now, let me share a little about myself. I have been teaching for 20 years. My first teaching position was at Horn Lake Intermediate teaching ELA. At the end of the school year, my husband was transferred to Florida. I taught self-contained 5th grade at E.L. Bing Elementary for 4 years. upon returning to Mississippi, I was hired to teach 4th grade ELA at Desoto Central Elementary School. When Mrs. Loper earned her Principal assignment, I followed her to Pleasant Hill. I taught Inclusion ELA for the first 8 years. After we departmentalized, I switched to Inclusion Math. Last year, I was called to serve as YOUR teacher and I feel BLESSED!! I look forward to a rewarding year of LEARNING and DISCOVERY!! Individually, we are STRONG.. Together as a TEAM, we are STRONGER!!

Outside of the classroom, I am a certified aerobics instructor and personal trainer at Jane's Gym. I am an avid runner as well. I have run many half marathons (13.1 miles) and 3 marathons (26.2 miles). I am currently training for St. Jude Full Marathon in December.

This year will bring change, but always remeber this..
