Subjects Taught
2nd Grade

I am a proud Mississippi State Bulldog! I received both my bachelor's and master's degrees in elementary education in Starkville, Mississippi.

As a lifelong resident of DeSoto County, I am very familiar with the positive reputation that surrounds Pleasant Hill Elementary, and I am incredibly proud to be a jaguar. I joined the Pleasant Hill family in January of 2017 and teaching at this school has been an absolute joy!

My name is Madison Sowell, and I absolutely adore teaching second grade at Pleasant Hill Elementary!! We have a wonderful community rooted in educating students in interactive and exciting ways!

I grew up in Olive Branch, and I attended DeSoto County schools from kindergarten to twelfth grade. After high school, I continued to Mississippi State University where I earned a bachelor’s and master’s degree in elementary education. I love traveling, reading, Mississippi State athletics, and Walt Disney World. I am a lifelong member of Maples Memorial United Methodist Church, and I love partnering with my church for children and youth ministries.

In the upcoming school year, there will be opportunities to learn, explore, grow, and better who we are as individuals through classroom instruction. I am committed to helping all children grow in academics, creativity, confidence, and character. I realize that with these goals, the role of the parent is fundamental. With the valuable influence of the parent, I hope to partner with each of our families to further each child’s success in the classroom and beyond.

It's going to be a fantastic school year, and I can not wait to see where our learning takes us!
