   Please remember to read DAILY with your child.Students MUST be at level I by the end of the year in order to be promoted to 2nd grade.

REMINDERS:

*READ ALL NOTES IN FOLDERS DAILY!

*Check CLASS DOJO for updates on your child's behavior and class progress!

 

Upcoming Events: *A.R. information was sent home in folders. Goals must be met by the end of the 9 weeks for students to attend the A.R. celebration!

 

***SEND $1.00 ON FRIDAYS IF YOU WISH FOR YOUR CHILD TO PURCHASE ICE CREAM.

* ALL TRANSPORTATION CHANGES MUST BE MADE IN WRITING. PLEASE DO NOT EMAIL TRANSPORTATION CHANGES! PLEASE WRITE A NOTE AND PUT IT IN YOUR CHILD'S DAILY FOLDER (ZIPPER POUCH).

* PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU CHECK YOUR CHILD'S FOLDER FOR HOMEWORK ASSIGNMENTS AND NOTES. ALL HOMEWORK SHOULD BE COMPLETED AND RETURNED THE NEXT DAY. PLEASE READ THE WEEKLY NEWSLETTER LOCATED IN THE SHEET PROTECTOR OF YOUR CHILD'S FOLDER. PLEASE CHECK YOUR CHILD'S AGENDA FOR HOMEWORK ASSIGNMENTS AND BEHAVIOR. THIS SHOULD BE SIGNED AND RETURNED DAILY.

*This is our weekly newsletter. Each week you will find an updated newsletter in your child's daily folder (in the sheet protector). Please read it to see what we will be working on in class, our schedule for the week, and important events and announcements.

****PLEASE BE SURE TO READ THIS "NEWS TO KNOW" ON MONDAY EACH WEEK SO THAT YOU WILL BE INFORMED OF WEEKLY ACTIVITIES AND REMINDERS.****

**OUR ACTIVITY DAYS WILL BE ROTATED. WE WILL HAVE ACTIVITY TIME DAILY FROM 10:55-11:45. BELOW IS A KEY TO SHOW THE DAILY ACTIVITIES.

A day- P.E.     B day- Library    C day- Computer      D day-Art

E day- P.E. 2      F day- No Activity       G day- Music

***LUNCH TIME IS 12:25-12:55***

***PLEASE MAKE SURE THAT YOUR CHILD HAS A SNACK EACH DAY. OUR SNACK TIME WILL BE FROM 10:00 UNTIL 10:15.***

 *Please remember to check your child's daily folder and homework agenda EACH night. We will be sending home several important reminders and new information, including information on upcoming events and fees that are due. PLEASE REMEMBER TO SIGN YOUR CHILD'S AGENDA EACH NIGHT!

 Put all money or notes to the teacher in the zipper pouch of your child's daily folder so that Mrs. Lisa can collect them. All money should be clearly labeled, so that we will know which fees you are paying or if it is for lunch, snack, etc.

READING-
Texts: Fiction and Nonfiction leveled texts

Skills: Comparing Fiction and Nonfiction Texts, Text Features, & Asking and Answering Questions About a Text & Retelling a Story

*Focus Lesson: Fiction (Retelling a Story) and Nonfiction (Recalling Details & Information)Assessments will be given as needed to determine mastery.

*Sight Word Focus:Make sure that your child has mastered the sight word list

To keep things better organized, and to ensure
that we get students tested more efficiently, we will be sending home a blue
folder that will be dedicated to only AR. To sign up to test, simply record the
name of the book that your child has read on the log sheet in the BLUE folder
and we will test them and record the scores.*New goal/recording sheets are in folders.

WEEKLY HOMEWORK-

*Complete STORY MAP for AR book by Friday each week. Turn in by Friday.

*Log on and complete a MINIMUM of at least 60 minutes of MOBY MAX READING STORIES by Friday of each week.

*READ TO MEET AR GOAL!

 

 

 LANGUAGE ARTS-
Skill:Practice Simple Sentences Using Sight Word Vocabulary (Building with Nouns,Verbs, & Adjectives)

Writing Focus Lesson: Writing Informative Pieces

*Assessments will be given as needed to determine mastery.


MATH- Numbers to 120

Review:Adding 2 Digit by One Digit, Word Problems, Review of Numbers 1-50, Place Value, Numbers 0-20, Represent Numbers in Different Ways-Drawings, Words, Ten Frames, Adding and Subtracting 1 & 0 and Word Problems Using Addition, Measurement & Review of Addition and Subtraction Strategies, Telling Time to the Hour and Half Hour, Shapes and Their Attributes

**Assessments will be given as needed to determine mastery.

 

***WE NO LONGER HAVE IXL! :( YouR child may log on to MOBY MAX...FACT MASTER...to practice fact fluency. All logins were sent home on notes, and students should be familiar with how to login.
