****This year we will be changing the format of our spelling tests in our class. This year our class will be focusing intensely on writing concepts. In order to do this, we will be focusing on using our spelling words in our writing exercises instead of simply taking a call out test. This test will be a spelling dictation test, meaning that the words above and basic sight words will be used to create sentences. The students will have a spelling list to study weekly and the sentences will be made from these words on the list and other high frequency words and words that we have already featured on prior spelling lists. These sentences will be read aloud to students and repeated multiple times. The students will write the sentences they hear. The students will not have the sentences to study in advanceStudents will be graded on spelling, capital letters, and punctuation. The students will also be using these words daily to generate their own sentences in class writing activities.
 *Writing Assessment Friday.

Thanks so much- Mrs. Lyles and Mrs. Lisa
