***THE BOOSTERTHON CONTINUES THIS WEEK! WE ARE DOING AN AWESOME JOB AT FUNDRAISING!LAST WEEK, OUR CLASS EARNED A HOMEWORK PASS! LET'S WORK TOGETHER TO RAISE MONEY FOR TECHNOLOGY IN OUR SCHOOL!***

***REMEMBER, OUR BOOK FAIR IS FEBRUARY 26-MARCH 6. OUR CLASS WILL BE SHOPPING ON MARCH 4TH DURING OUR ACTIVITY TIME FROM 1:15-2:05.

***FOR THOSE PARENTS WHO ONLY PAID HALF DOWN ON THE FIELDTRIP TO TUPELO......THE OTHER HALF OF THE FIELDTRIP PAYMENT ($13.00) IS DUE BY MARCH 6TH. PLEASE SEND THIS AMOUNT IN BY THIS DATE.

***I SENT HOME NOTES ABOUT THE FAMOUS AMERICANS PROJECT AND POSSIBLE CHANGES IN YOUR CHILD'S PRESENTATION DATE LAST THURSDAY (DUE TO CHANGES IN THE FUN RUN DATES). I ALSO SENT HOME A COPY OF YOUR CHILD'S REPORT SO THAT YOUR CHILD MAY PRACTICE READING THE REPORT FLUENTLY. I ALSO ATTACHED A COPY OF THE RUBRIC SO THAT YOU WOULD KNOW WHAT I WOULD BE LOOKING FOR IN GRADING THE PRESENTATIONS.PRESENTATIONS ARE SCHEDULED FOR FEBRUARY 25TH AND 26TH. PLEASE CHECK THE NOTE THAT I SENT HOME LAST THURSDAY FOR YOUR CHILD'S PRESENTATION DAY. PLEASE REMEMBER THAT YOUR CHILD SHOULD DRESS AS HIS/HER FAMOUS PERSON AND SHOULD BE ABLE TO FLUENTLY READ HIS/HER REPORT. DON'T BUY ANYTHING....BE CREATIVE!!!!

***THE DEADLINE FOR MEETING READING AVALANCHE GOALS IS THURSDAY, MARCH 5, 2015. IF YOUR CHILD HAS NOT MET HIS/HER 500 MINUTE READING GIAL BY THIS DATE, HE/SHE WILL BE UNABLE TO ATTEND THE AVALANCHE OF READING PARTY. PLEASE ENCOURAGE YOUR CHILD TO LOG ON AND READ!

Announcements:

***Our fieldtrip to Health Works in Tupelo is scheduled for April 20. We will send more information home soon. We are looking forward to this experience with our students! This will be a great learning experience to go with our last unit of the year- the human body.

***PLEASE MAKE SURE THAT YOU ENCOURAGE YOUR CHILD TO READ AND LOG ON TO MOBY MAX AT HOME AS PART OF THEIR HOMEWORK/OUTSIDE READING TIME. REMEMBER, YOUR CHILD MUST COMPLETE AT LEAST 60 MINUTES PER WEEK TO STAY ON TRACK TO MEET HIS/HER READING GOAL FOR OUR AVALANCHE OF READING CHALLENGE FOR THE 3RD NINE WEEKS. TO MEET THEIR GOALS, STUDENTS WILL NEED 500 AT HOME MINUTES TOTAL TIME UNDER THE READING STORIES ICON FOR THE 3RD NINE WEEKS. PROGRESS SHEETS WILL BE IN THE FRONT OF YOUR CHILD'S FOLDER WEEKLY FOR YOU TO REVIEW AND SIGN, AND PROGRESS MAY ALSO BE MONITORED BY LOGGING ONTO MOBY MAX AND CHOOSING THE PARENT OPTION. YOU WILL NEED YOUR CHILD'S LOGIN AND PASSWORD THAT I PROVIDED ON THE NOTE. THE SCHOOL CODE IS ms761. ALL STUDENTS WHO MEET THEIR GOALS WILL BE ELIGIBLE TO ATTEND THE READING CELEBRATION SO READ, READ, READ!!!

****A HIGH FIVE GOES OUT TO ALL STUDENTS WHO MADE THEIR MOBY MAX READING GOALS OF 60 MINUTES THIS WEEK! :) KAYLEE, CALVIN, ADDI BUTLER, SYDNEY, LAWSON, JOSHUA, CONNOR, JACOB, GARRETT, D.J., MICHAEL, SAM, STEPHEN, BOBBY D., AND ALEX--WAY TO GO!!! THE FOLLOWING STUDENTS HAVE LOGGED MORE THAN 500+ TOTAL POINTS--KAYLEE, SYDNEY, JOSHUA, D.J., AND EMMA KATE--AWESOME!!!!!

 **CHICKEN BISCUIT WEDNESDAY-Order forms for chicken biscuits will be in your child's folder this week. Chicken biscuits must be preordered. The cost is $3.00.
**Students may bring ice cream money on Fridays.The cost for ice cream is .75.

 *Please remember to check your child's daily folder and homework agenda EACH night. We will be sending home several important reminders and new information, including information on upcoming events and fees that are due. PLEASE REMEMBER TO SIGN YOUR CHILD'S AGENDA EACH NIGHT!

 Put all money or notes to the teacher in the zipper pouch of your child's daily folder so that Mrs. Lisa can collect them. All money should be clearly labeled, so that we will know which fees you are paying or if it is for lunch, snack, etc.

***INFORMATION WAS SENT HOME IN FOLDERS ABOUT MOBY MAX. PLEASE ALLOW YOUR CHILD TO PRACTICE ON THE FACT MASTER. IT WILL HELP THEM ON THEIR BASIC MATH FLUENCY FACTS. BY THE END OF THE 9 WEEKS, STUDENTS SHOULD BE FLUENT IN BOTH ADDITION AND SUBTRACTION FACTS THROUGH 20. TIMED QUIZZES ARE GIVEN TO ASSESS FLUENCY.
