About the Teacher

Bachelor of Arts-University of Mississippi 1990

This year marks my 28th year of teaching.  I taught for 2 years in Shelby County and my last 24 years have been with Desoto County Schools. This is my third year at Pleasant Hill Elementary.

I've spent the past 16 years at Center Hill Elementary.   After spending 10 years teaching third grade, I became the librarian.

I am looking forward to meeting ALL the students at our school and watching them grow through years.

I am a life long Desoto County resident.  I graduated from Horn Lake High School and the University of Mississippi.  I am married to Chip Cavagnaro and we have a 23 year old daughter, Mackenzie, that is a junior at the University of Mississippi in Southaven. I also have 5 rescued pets that are EXTREMELY spoiled.

When I am not at school, I enjoy reading, crafting, and traveling. We spend most our of summers and free time at our cabin on the Tennessee River.  A lazy day on the river, boating with family and friends is the BEST!!

Mission Statement: The mission of Pleasant Hill Elementary Library is to provide the school community with a wide range of materials on appropriate levels of difficulty that will encourage growth in knowledge, establish a life-long love of reading, and foster information literacy.
