Bio
After graduating from Auburn University, my teaching career began in Arlington, TX where I taught 4th grade. Next, we moved to Atmore, AL, my hometown, and I taught first grade prior to our move to the Memphis area. I began teaching at DeSoto Central in 1999. After having taught fourth grade as well as 7th English/Literature, I have enjoyed teaching spotlight at PHES and am excited about being your child’s 2nd Grade Spotlight teacher at Pleasant Hill. I am married to Chris Powell, and we have 2 daughters and twin grands!
I LOVE college football ~ the Auburn Tigers are my favorite team! I also enjoy watching all of the SEC games and look forward to football season beginning each fall. I also enjoy spending time with my family, reading, Bible study, sewing, and gardening.
